Twin sisters Becca and Sarah Duncan, who have no immediate plans to walk down the aisle, posed for pictures in wedding dresses with their father who has Alzheimer's.

Scott Duncan, who was recently moved to a 24-hour nursing facility, was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, according to ABC News.

"We just randomly thought of this idea," Becca told the news outlet. "Me and Sarah know that our dad is more than likely not going to be at our wedding – it's not being a downer or anything; we're just being realistic – so we decided to do these wedding pictures with Dad."

The 23-year-old sisters from Grapevine, Texas, wore donated floor-length wedding short prom dresses and spent around 10 minutes posing for photos with their 80-year-old father.

"The entire experience was the best thing in the world. Seeing him coming down the hall and seeing us in our wedding dresses and him smiling. It meant so much to us," Becca said.

She added: "You could see the smile on his face."

Their mother Pamela found the photographer, who ended up giving them the pictures free of charge.

Both sisters, who have been in relationships for nearly one year, have always thought about their father being at their weddings.

"For me, it's all about the daddy-daughter dance," Sarah told ABC, "and having him give away his daughter to a new guy to take care of."

She adds: "We now get this moment for the rest of our lives and I don't think some people really understand that's why we were doing it," she said, "We want to capture the moment while we can."

For Becca, she's always dreamed about a big wedding and her dad walking her down the aisle.

"It would be awesome to have our dad there. He was our superhero. He was our Superman growing up," she said.

But there is one thing she knows she can always hold onto it – the wedding photos.

"It's something that we're going to have for the rest of our lives."
