In the middle of a Christmas village, sleigh bells turned to wedding bells, and the bride had no clue until she arrived.

Myles McCutcheon and Brianna Swies took the surprise plunge at Koziar's Christmas Village in Jefferson Township.

"It was my idea," said Raqual Swies, the mother of the bride. "I wanted a Christmas love story."

"I'm still in shock!" said the new bride, Brianna Swies.

But there's more behind the spontaneity. McCutcheon is in the Army. Soon, he'll be deploying to Kuwait.

"End of April, we'll be leaving," said McCutcheon, "so I wanted to make sure it was done before that, and I don't have to worry that she'll be taken care of."

While the bride was in the dark, both families knew the surprise ceremony was coming.

"Surprisingly not hard [to keep secret]. They don't have as big of mouths as I thought," said McCutcheon.

"Oh, I'm happy for him," said McCutcheon's mother, Margaret. "[Brianna's] such a doll. We love her so much. They make a good couple."

Nat King Cole's voice wrapping them as they said their wedding vows, there was no need for a dance hall or a grandiose ceremony.

"Just wanted to do it quick. It's Christmastime. It's the most romantic spot you can do it, I guess," said McCutcheon.

A sleigh ride, together, for life.
