Goodbye to the turkey and hello Christmas racing! The post-Santa racing season is always one of the most exciting, and most sociable, of the year and with so many people home for the holidays, it really adds to a lively atmosphere.

I have the pleasure of judging the Monart Destination Spa 'Most Stylish Lady' competition at Leopardstown on Monday, December 28. The Lexus Chase Day is always one of the most glamorous days on the Christmas calendar in Ireland. December 28 sees the official Ladies' Day of the four-day racing festival at Leopardstown so rest assured, the stakes will be high and I know from experience that the hardcore racing fraternity will be out along with regulars from the Best Dressed circuit of fashionistas, tempted by the rather gorgeous prize worth €5,000.

The winner of the Most Stylish Lady and her guest will enjoy a five-night break at award-winning Monart in a luxurious suite, complete with chauffeur to and from the spa located near Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. There will be signature spa treatments every day, dinners and afternoon tea. If the winner cannot avail of a five-day stay, the prize can also be conveniently redeemed as five separate mini-breaks.

To say I'm currently fixated about colour is an under-statement. After styling this winter fashion shoot, I'm most definitely out of the black and intend to wear red on December 28 for my judging duties. I have a soft spot for Leopardstown, not least because I actually won Best Dressed there back in May 2000 and I luxuriated in spending my fashion prize for the next few months. As for tips, well I would encourage ladies to embrace colour and do dress appropriately for the weather.

Remember that the clue is in the title: Most Stylish Lady so accessories and grooming will help you towards that fabulous prize and do come early. Gates open at 10am, the first race is at 12.10pm and I will be out spotting the glam ladies from noon.
