Which products do you swear by?

I couldn’t be without Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. It stays put and is enhancing rather than an obvious cover-up on my skin. It gives me a glow rather than leaving me feeling like I’m plastered in foundation.

What do you always have in your make-up bag?

Le Volume de Chanel black mascara is a permanent resident in my make-up bag. I’m a sucker for luscious lashes and after much research, trust me, this mascara does the trick.

What’s your top beauty tip?

Less is more. I discovered make-up in the 80s and plastered it on – blue eyeliner, pink blusher, you name it. It’s so much better to wear less and I think men prefer it, too.

Which woman do you consider beautiful?

My mum! She’s 85-years-old and looks unbelievable for her age. She is from South Africa, so has lovely olive skin and beautiful dark brown eyes. I’d be happy to take after her.

What is your signature fragrance?

I like fruity, light perfumes like Acqua Di Parma Blu Mediterraneo and Arancia di Capri. I think certain fragrances can age you, so I always run them past my 16-year-old daughter Connie first!

How do you pamper yourself?

I’m not great at pampering myself, but I love to have a bath with magnesium salts mid-afternoon, when the kids (Jenny is also mum to Pollyanna, eight) are at school.

Do you diet?

Just say no to diets. They never work long-term as far as I’m concerned, and make you even more obsessed with food.

How do you keep fit?

“Lift like a man, look like a goddess!” That’s my mantra, so I lift, squat, use kettle bells, and go to yoga twice a week to stay flexible.

If you could change one part of your body, what would it be?

I’m not a fan of my feet. I have long toes and they look a bit battered from doing ballet when I was young.

Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery?

I had my boobs done about 11 years ago after breast-feeding. But I’m not having anything else done.

How would you describe your style?

Bohemian and vintage, with a sporty edge. I love a floaty dress, vintage jewellery and anything individual. I’m not a trend follower.

What’s your favourite designer label?

Chloé and Balenciaga.

Do you have a favourite shop?

I am a big fan of vintage shops. My local one in Cheshire is called Lisa Stirling Vintage. I’m in every week.

What’s your all-time favourite outfit?

A floaty chiffon dress from Zadig & Voltaire, teamed with Valentino espadrilles. It’s a bohemian dream!Read more at:cocktail dresses | cheap prom dresses
