Alopecia, a disease that causes partial or total loss of hair is a painful ordeal to live. For a woman human hair wigs, it creates often a strong sense of shame. Daniel Regan, photographer, created a series of photos to support and sublimate all these people bald head.


The Alopecia Project (or Project Alopecia) is a series of photographs that shows men, women and children affected by this phenomenon affecting around two million women in France and 2% of the total US population. This disease is often referred to chemotherapy patients but yet the majority of people with alopecia are healthy people who have never had cancer. You should also know that only 5% of people with alopecia lose all of their hair or hair.

But losing her hair has a different meaning in a man, a woman or a child, because in addition to losing hair, alopecia also causes the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes. These body parts are important in the femininity can change for a woman the way she perceives. Indeed, this disease affects not only the body but also self esteem.
