Longchamp Paris RTW Spring 2016

Longchamp may not be top of mind when it comes to ready-to-wear, but the French heritage brand is hoping to change that as creative director Sophie Delafontaine slowly forges a collection of easy separates.

For spring, Delafontaine focused on an “optimistic view, full of positive energy and color,” but interpreted for a city woman who prefers her hues tempered by black and white. A key palette was pink, black and white, which looked chic as a pink leather trench with a swath of black at the waist and a white belt. Delafontaine explored a playful way to ward off the elements by pairing clear PVC rain jackets over sweet shorts, which were strong throughout the collection, and T’shirts. She took a chance with an iridescent metallic coated leather that seemed oddly out of place with the rest of the collection.

As for accessories, key new items were the Le Pliage heritage large clutch and the Le Baronne, a strappy sandal that was sexier than usual for the brand. Read more at: Prom dresses uk 2016
