Located in the heart of Riviera Village, the Redondo Beach children’s shop Lollipop offers a wide variety of adorable attire and toys.

Owner Veronica Maguire opened the shop in March 2010.

“After college, I worked in women's fashion. I took some time off, and the opportunity came up to start Lollipop, so I took it. I have always been interested in children's clothing, and in owning my own business,” she said.

Her college education is in liberal arts, but she’s always loved the world of fashion.

“I wanted to have a career that let me work and have a family,” said Maguire.

With Lollipop, she’s found that career and Maguire enjoys spending time with her two children, now 18 and 10.

Her popular shop carries sizes from preemie to age 14 for girls, and preemie to ages 8 and 10 for boys.

“We carry lines in all price ranges. We try to find lines that are first quality and affordable,” she said.

Maguire also focuses on getting to know her customers — her shop is known both for its personalized service for its varied, durable and super stylish clothing and toys.

Her most popular and unique baby lines include the bamboo fabric of Kickee pants, the super soft comfort of Kissy Kissy, and other brands such as Petit Bateau, Little Giraffe, Mayoral, Splendid, and Aden and Anais.

From holiday dresses and decorative hair bands, to all cotton T-shirts and hoodies, Lollipop has something to suit every child.

Toys, including soft and cuddly plush, are also a big draw for the store.

“We sell Jelly Cat, Habra, Hape, and Melissa and Doug,” she said.

Maguire carefully curates a book section as well, with fun titles such as the nursery rhyme take-off “Mother Bruce,” and the Newbury Award winner “Beekle,” on her shelves.

Another stand-out aspect of the store is a photography recommendation. With customers eager to get portraits of their tots, Maguire works with Zoom Theory Photography, which has mini-sessions with many of their customers, she said.
