Edward McMurdo wanted to align himself with a dental partner when he moved from Vancouver, British Columbia to Tecumseh, Ontario. But when he couldn’t find what or who he wanted, McMurdo decided to build his own office—a compact, 1600-foot, three-operatory office. McMurdo offers the most modern of amenities to patients, from the massage chairs they sit in during treatment to the digital radiography that minimizes the radiation patients must endure during X-rays and the Dentrix software that allows him to run a paperless office. An additional multipurpose room provides McMurdo space to hold conferences and tend to other business related to the practice. The new practice continues to greet many new patients on a monthly basis. The Precise LTM solves the soft tissue laser dilemma Dentists are almost unanimous in wanting to purchase soft tissue lasers for their offices. But figuring out which soft tissue laser to buy is a much more difficult exercise. The Precise LTM may be the answer, though. It is both powerful (five watts) and versatile enough to provide unique treatments while also getting plenty of use during routine treatments such as class V and subgingival restorations, crown and bridge impressions and cosmetic and gingival recontouring. The Precise LTM’s ability to come in handy on a daily basis will make it a vital part of the practice and allow dentists to make back their initial investment—which, in turn, increases the profitability of the dental office. Making a good first impression will lead to many more visits First impressions tend to be the most lasting ones—especially when it comes to patients who are visiting a dentist for the first time dental handpiece. Most people are reluctant to go to the dentist and will look for any reason NOT to go back. So it’s essential that dentists make patients feel comfortable right away, not only with the dental office décor but also with the technology the office offers. Having the most modern equipment available will go a long way towards reassuring new patients that their mouths are in good hands—literally—and ensuring they return many times for years to come! Digital X-rays an effective solution for dentists and patients As someone who operates eight offices in four different states, Dr. Justin Moody needed a cost-effective solution to his X-ray needs dental vacuum forming machine. He learned quickly about the convenience of digital radiography, which saves tons of time for patients as well as time and money for himself. With digital X-rays, the patient and dentist alike will instantly know what needs to be done to a tooth, which allows the patient to fit in more treatment in a shorter period of time and the dentist to schedule more appointments. Just as importantly, the price of traditional X-rays will only increase as the cost of film and the materials required to develop X-rays each go up with no end in sight dental lab equipment. With digital X-rays, there is no need for Dr. Moody to invest in the expensive and potentially hazardous chemicals required to develop traditional X-rays, nor to spend time disposing of them in an environmentally conscious manner.
