Hats and dresses at the ready: Cheltenham Racecourse has launched its 'best dressed' competition for The Festival.

Bigger and better than before, Colour Me March gives racegoers the chance to win some fantastic prizes on Ladies Day (Wednesday 15 March), while showcasing their best outfits.

Those who have marieprom dressed to the nines but have not been lucky before have the chance of winning a Mini One car at random, by simply being selected in a prize draw. It is worth more than £20,000.

Ladies who have been spotted will be given a badge with a number on the reverse and at various intervals throughout the day, the winner of the car and other exciting prizes will be announced on the big screen.

A beautiful gold label Holland Cooper Cape worth £4,000 and a share in three racehorses as part of the Cheltenham and South West Syndicate are among them.

Ladies are already under starter's orders for the main award, which is part of the #ColourMeMarch Style Awards.

The fashion queen wearing the most colourful and inspirational outfit will go home with a Boodles Diamond Necklace and other quality goodies.

And like the equine action on the racecourse, competition will be fierce between Great Britain and Ireland.

The racecourse has sourced two ambassadors to front Colour Me March- Miss England Elizabeth Grant and Irish model Roz Purcell.

They say that it's all about colour, fun, sharing what you're wearing and representing your nation.

"People travel from around the country for this exciting event and this year will undoubtedly be a stylish best and hopefully Team GB will walk away with the title," said Grant.

The home ambassador will be looking for an upturn in fortunes as Yvonne McAvoy's stunning emerald outfit clinched victory for Ireland in 2016.

#ColourMeMarch is judged via social media and online only.
