An Orange County couple contacted Channel 9 because he said his fiancé is having a difficult time trying to get her prom dresses uk properly altered for their wedding.

The big day is two weeks away, and the couple said the bridal shop and the seamstress shop next door ruined the dress, despite several attempts.

"She said the dress is beautiful. Not to worry. There's nothing else they can do, and that the reason I got that dress on sale was because there must have been a defect on the dress. I said nobody ever told me that when they sold me the dress," said bride-to-be Yhisell Poyato.

The dress Poyato wanted to wear no longer fits the way she said it did when she bought it.

"I didn't want them to touch the dress at all. She refused to see most of my pictures or videos," said Poyato. "It only got worse every visit."

Poyato said the seamstress connected to Minerva's Bridal botched her alterations, and she had gone to her three times.

"I was never angry. I'm just sad, and I'm really upset that I let them get to me, because I never thought I'd be like this about a dress," Poyato said.

"It's just kind of a dark cloud over the whole thing," groom Cory Bruh said.

Poyato took the dress to another seamstress, who told her many mistakes were made and it would cost even more to try to fix it.

Poyato said she went back to Minerva's and demanded a refund, but they refused.

"I told her, ‘Please bring the dress back.’ She said, ‘I'm not bringing the dress back.’ I said, ‘We need to see what the error is and we need to fix it for you,’" store manager Terri said.

Channel 9 showed a photo of the dress to Terri, who wouldn't give us her last name.

"Do you think there's anything wrong with that dress?" asked Channel 9 reporter Lauren Seabrook.

“Of course. She's saying the sides were not done correctly. That's when I told her, ‘You bring it back,’" said Terri.

Minerva's Bridal has a four-star rating on Yelp.

"They threatened us. They were very loud. What could I do? All I told them was, ‘Listen, you don't want to work with us, I cannot work with you. You need to leave,’" Terri said.

Channel 9 checked to see if other brides had issues, and found a handful of similar reviews.

Some brides had alteration problems, and others complained about the customer service.

The shop's owner later spoke with Channel 9, and said he would give the couple a full refund if the bride-to-be returned the dress.

He said Minerva's Bridal has been a good business, providing prom dresses online to hundreds of Central Florida brides for the past 30 years.
