The Princess Diaries star certainly looked the fairytale bride as she married actor Adam Schulman on the idyllic Californian coast.

And now Anne Hathaway's friend and legendary Italian designer, Valentino, has released a sketch of the bespoke off-the-shoulder gown that he personally designed for her special day.

It is clear that no detail was omitted in this custom-made, special gift.

"Anne's gown is a strapless ivory silk point d'esprit tulle midnight blue evening dress, which included a beautiful pink hand-painted shaded train and embroidered with satin flowers," writes the designer.

The floor-length vintage veil, which complemented the short crop Anne has adopted for Les Miserables is "reminiscent of the Twenties, consists of a lace ribbon with a large flower adorned with small crystal beads."

The actress wed on September 29 after a one-year engagement, despite previously telling HELLO!: "We're getting married, probably sometime next year-ish. Not this year, it's too big with two films coming out.

"I've not even decided what sort of ceremony I want."

But with the help of her close friend, who announced just weeks before that he would be taking on the "personal project", Anne looked every inch the picture-perfect princess.
