As little girls a lot of us women grew up with Disney characters as our model of what a “princess” should look like! Today our own little girls have official “princess” dresses to play dress-up in. Even Ariel the Mermaid princess of King Titan qualifies.

Ariel fans all grown up can still play “princess” for special occasions in Mermaid style dresses. You might be surprised at the variety you’ll find when you start looking beyond the local dress shop. I thought this blue ruffled strapless mermaid prom dress is just gorgeous! I’d feel like a princess walking in something with so many ruffled layers.

Though blue is my color and I’d feel like a princess in this I know this isn’t everyone’s “cup of tea”.  The purple-black lace prom dress below is also gorgeous and chic: a much more serious tone is going on here.

Some occasions carry more formality than others. For such, this black floor-length mermaid dress with a bit of bright embellishment might be more suitable.

A girl could go crazy with all the beautiful dresses out there. There’s so many to choose from! Even if you have no where to go they are fun to look at: eye-candy for wanna-be princesses all grown up :) .
